Tham Phannara District

Amphoe Tham Phannara ( Thai: อำเภอ ถ้ำ พรรณ รา ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Nakhon Si Thammarat. The Nakhon Si Thammarat province lies to the east of the southern region of Thailand.

Geography

The Nakhon Si Thammarat province lies about 780 kilometers south of Bangkok on the east coast of the Malay Peninsula to the Gulf of Thailand.

Neighbouring districts ( from east clockwise): Amphoe Chawang the Thung Yai and Nakhon Si Thammarat and Amphoe Wiang Sa Phrasaeng and in the province of Surat Thani.

History

On April 1, 1990, Tham Phannara first as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by the two Tambon Khlong Tham Phannara and Se were separated from Amphoe Chawang. The administration was initially located within the Wat Tham Phannara until the present administration building was opened on 4 October 1993 .. On September 7, 1995 Tham Phannara got the full Amphoe status.

Management

Amphoe Tham Phannara is divided into three communes ( tambon), which are further subdivided into 29 villages ( Muban ).

There are also three " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
