Thames Town

Thames Town is the name of an approximately October 20, 2006 opened 1 sq. km large part of the city of satellites city Songjiang, about 30 km from the center of Shanghai, China.

The architecture of Thames Town mimics that of a country town in England. The church is the replica of a building in Bristol ( other buildings are copies of Lyme Regis, Dorset). Thames Town is like aligned at the Weimar Bauhaus tradition Anting one of nine new towns, which are designed according to various European models (the Netherlands, Sweden, Spain, Italy, etc ).

The city is uninhabited except for a few people. The houses and land to buy, but very limited or not used. The Chinese population is said to be of the view that decreases at a habitation or use of this property, the resale value. The place is often used as a backdrop for personal photo shoots.
