Thap Sakae District

Amphoe Thap Sakae ( Thai: อำเภอ ทับสะแก ) is a district ( Amphoe ) in the southern part of the province of Prachuap Khiri Khan. The Prachuap Khiri Khan province is the southernmost province of the central region of Thailand.

Geography

Adjacent areas and Amphoe Amphoe Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan is located north, Amphoe Bang Saphan south of the county. To the west is the Tanintharyi Division of Myanmar, to the east of the Gulf of Thailand.

The National Park Namtok Huai Yang ( Huai Yang Waterfall - Thai: อุทยานแห่งชาติ น้ำตก ห้วย ยาง ) located both here in Thap Sakae and in Amphoe Bang Saphan. In the northeast of the Marine National Park is located Hat Wanakon which includes a narrow coastal strip and the offshore islands.

History

The area of present-day Thap Sakae district was separated from the Amphoe Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan and Bang Saphan. This was the land fertile and lay close to the sea, many people moved here and founded the three villages of Huai Yang, Ang Thong and Thap Sakae. As these villages were getting bigger, decided in 1938, the government, Thap Sakae than one sub- district ( King Amphoe ) to set up. He was officially launched on July 23, 1958 the full Amphoe status.

Attractions

  • Namtok Huai Yang National Park ( Huai Yang Waterfall - Thai: อุทยานแห่งชาติ น้ำตก ห้วย ยาง ) - opened the 161 km ² large park was ranked as the 70th national park of Thailand on 8 December 1991.
  • Marine National Park has Wanakon ( Thai: อุทยานแห่งชาติ หาด วน กร ) - The 18th Marine National Park was officially opened on 30 December 1992 by a royal decree. He is only 38 km ² in size and thus the smallest marine park of Thailand. 59.5 % of the park located on the mainland, while 40.5% of water, the islands Chan ( Thai: เกาะ จาน ) and Thaisi ( Thai: เกาะ ท้าย ท รี ย์ ) includes lying about 6 km off the coast.

Management

Amphoe Thap Sakae is divided into six communes ( tambon), which continues in 65 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

Thap Sakae itself ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ทับสะแก ) has a small-town status ( thesaban tambon), it consists of parts of the tambon Thap Sakae.

In addition, there are six " Tambon Administrative Organizations" ( TAO - administrative units ).
