Thayer County, Nebraska

Thayer County is a county located in the state of Nebraska in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Hebron, which was named after the biblical town in Palestine.

Geography

The County is located in southeastern Nebraska, on the south by the state of Kansas and has an area of 1490 square kilometers, of which 2 square kilometers is water area. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Jefferson County, Nuckolls County, and Fillmore County.

History

Thayer County was formed in 1872. It was named for the General and Governor John Milton Thayer.
