The 5000 fingers of Dr. T. is an American comedy film directed by Roy Rowland in 1953 after the story by Theodor S. Geisel, who wrote both the story and the screenplay by his stage name Dr. Seuss. Germany premiere was on 11 August 1986 at the German television.

Action

The young Bart Collins lives with his widowed mother Heloise. The worst thing in his life are the hated piano lessons, which he takes Terwilliker in which Dr. authoritarian. Bart believes his mother was under Terwillikers evil influence. Also visiting with a friend who is a plumber, Mr. Zabladowski, Bart brings no further. During a lesson Bart dozes off and slides into a musical dream world.

In his dream he is in captivity in Terwilliker Institute. Dr. Terwilliker is a crazy dictator who has all the musicians who can play the piano imprisoned. The doctor has constructed a giant piano. Bart and 499 other prisoners are supposed to play it. Bart's mother turns out to be Terwillikers hypnotized assistant and fiancée. To save himself and his mother, Bart must avoid the guards Institute.
