The Adventures of Hiram Holliday is an American television series that was produced for NBC, based on the eponymous short story by best-selling author Paul Gallico, in black / white. Of the total of 26 episodes were the last three previously unausgestrahlt since the series was discontinued from the program.

A German version of the series aired in the early 1960s in the regional program of the ARD. The title appears in the former program magazines as The Adventures of Hiram Holliday or The Adventures of Hiram Holliday with a different spelling of the name - Holiday Holliday instead. A 2013 published in the series PIDAX Series Classic DVD uses the title The Adventures of Hiram Holliday.

Series concept

Hiram Holliday (Wally Cox ) is a rather inconspicuous editor of a major New York newspaper which attracts attention due modesty and good nature. He is small, wears glasses and rather old-fashioned clothes and an umbrella. What do not suspect his colleagues, is that he has secretly trained a true elite athletes who could take it easily with a James Bond. His umbrella, he understands how to run a fencing weapon.

In return for a small favor (he had inserted a missing comma in an article, so the publisher saved from a large claim for damages ), sends him his publisher Harrison Prescott ( Thurston Hall ) along with reporter Joel Smith ( Ainslie Pryor ) on a big world tour. On his journey experienced Hiram breathtaking adventure, in which he also often the villain Monsieur Cerveaux, spies and assassins faces and about which he then reported for his newspaper.
