The Age of Stupid - why do we do anything? ( German Title: The Age of Foolishness) is a British docudrama by director Franny Armstrong and producer John Battsek. The German version was on June 3, 2010, distributed by Tao cinematheque in the cinemas.

Action

Pete Postlethwaite plays a man who lives alone on the contaminated soil in 2055. He looks using old footage from 2008 into the past and the question arises as to why no one has done anything against the pollution and global warming, as there was still time to do so.

Background

The film premiered in March 2009 in the UK premiere. To reduce carbon dioxide production, the premiere took place in a solar cinema tent in London, also traveled many of the actors with the bike and so underlined the message of the film.

In the second, global film premiered on September 21, 2009 in New York City a green carpet for the celebrities was rolled out and the former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan arrived in a bicycle rickshaw.

The film was supported in the UK by Greenpeace and financed by the sale of shares in 223 individuals and groups. In Germany a number of conservation organizations support the film and the initiative 10:10, to sensitize people to the consequences of climate change.
