The American Economic Review

The American Economic Review (AER ) is a scientific journal published seven times a year to economic issues. It is published by the American Economic Association and is regarded as the world's most prestigious magazine of their field of study. Only about 7 to 10 percent of the essays submitted are accepted for publication.

History

The AER was first issued in 1911. Among the previous editors included, among others, Ben Bernanke. Current Issuer is Pinelopi Goldberg.

Reception

The magazine ranking VHB- JOUR QUAL (2008) classifies the AER in the best category A . In the magazine list of the Handelsblatt Ranking Economics ( 2008) is considered the AER in the best category AA. The magazine ranking of the British Association of Business Schools ( 2010) classifies them in the best category 4 * a.

The Impact Factor of the American Economic Review was in 2012 at 2,792. In the statistics of the Social Sciences Citation Index, the magazine was done with this Impact Factor of 20 out of 333 journals in the category Economics.
