The Americans (2013 TV series)

The Americans is an American television series that was first aired on January 30, 2013 on FX. The series takes place during the Cold War in the 1980s and tells the story of two Soviet KGB spies, the couple Elizabeth and Philip Jennings, who with their unsuspecting children in a suburb of Washington, DC live. The series was nominated for several awards and won a TCA Award. The German Air Date takes place from February 5, 2014 on ProSieben Maxx.

Action

The two KGB spies Elizabeth and Philip Jennings pull the end of the sixties in the United States. To create the appearance of a normal family, they live in an arranged marriage by her superiors. Over time, the family is represented by the two children, the 14 -year-old Paige and 11 -year-old Henry, completed. Elizabeth and Philip have become closer over the years, but their life is complicated by guiding their espionage ring. Production

The idea for the series contributed Joe Weisberg, a former CIA agent, at. Location of most of the scenes in New York City in the Eastern Effects Studions in the borough of Brooklyn. Several other locations are Farmingdale and Kew Gardens.

After the start of the series on January 30, 2013 extended the FX series early in February 2013 to a second season consisting of 13 episodes. In March 2013 Susan Misner was promoted from recurring guest star to leading lady. About two months later, shortly after the end of the broadcast of the first season, Annet Mahendru and Alison Wright also rose up in the main cast.

Broadcast

The first season was aired on FX between 30 January and 1 May 2013. The broadcast of the second season takes place since February 26, 2014.

The German -language version is broadcast on ProSieben Maxx since 5 February 2014.
