In 1992, she launched an official breeding program for the two native macaw species of Costa Rica. For this purpose, the non-profit organization " Amigos de las Aves " ( Friends of Birds ) was launched.

Over the years, the largest population of the Great Green Macaw in captivity, and a functioning reintroduction program of Scarlet Macaws developed so.
