The Audience (band)

The Audience was a rock band from Hersbruck at Nuremberg. Their music is a mix of punk, disco, new wave and pop.

History

The Audience was founded in 2003. The first gigs the band did the opening act for The Robocop Kraus. Also in 2003 appeared with the EP " The Audience ", the first release of the band. The debut album was released in 2007 Celluloid at Hazelwood Vinyl Plastics. This was followed by concerts and performances at music festivals in Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland, Norway, Italy and the Netherlands. The Audience appeared as opening acts of The Kooks, The Wombats, Blood Red Shoes, And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, The International Noise Conspiracy, The Robocop Kraus and Turbostaat. End of 2008, the second studio album Dancers and Architects appeared.

On 22 July 2009 the City Council of the City of Nuremberg, the band as part of the Culture Prize of the City of Nuremberg decided to confer with a budget of 2,500 euros " Nuremberg Scholarship ". The third studio album Hearts ( Hazelwood / Avantpop ) was published in April 2012.

After John Preiss announced his departure from the band, The Audience broke up in 2012. Their last concert the band played on December 29th at Muffatwerk in Munich.
