The Bad Sister is an American film drama directed by Hobart Henley from the year 1931. The film is based on the novel The Flirt by Booth Tarkington, which was also filmed in 1916 and 1922. The Bad Sister is the first film of Hollywood legend Bette Davis.
Action
The naive small town girl Marianne Madison is bored by her conventional life. So she falls in love with the fraudster Valentine Corliss when he comes to town. Corliss surreptitiously to trust in the city. With a forged signature of Marianne's wealthy father, he deceives the people and then piled up along with Marianne from the city. Previously, he asks her if she wants to be his wife.
After the wedding night in a seedy hotel leaves Valentine Marianne. This returns back home and desperately begs for forgiveness at Dick Lindley, who was in love for a long time in it, but was always rejected by her. However, Lindley now knows the true Marianne and prefers a relationship with Marianne's restrained, younger sister Laura, which loves him for a long time.
