The Bedroom Window

The bedroom window is an American thriller directed by Curtis Hanson from 1987 based on the book The Witnesses of the writer Anne Holden.

Action

Terry Lambert with Sylvia, the wife of his boss, an affair. After a party Sylvia Terry visited in his apartment and is thereby the night looking out of the bedroom window witness how the young girl Denise is attacked on the street by an apparent rapist. Since Sylvia does not want to compromise, she tells the police nothing. Terry wants to help Denise and then gives the police a description of the perpetrator from, although he has not even seen the perpetrator. The police then fixed inconsistencies in Terry's statement, which he is unintentionally the prime suspect. He has no choice but to seek the help of Denise even after the real culprits and to trap him.

Involuntarily we associate here the classic Rear Window ( 1954) by Alfred Hitchcock, but the action has in fact some remarkable parallels. In contrast, however, the action is not limited to a backyard here.

Criticism

" Polyphonic, on Suspense" oriented thriller, directed with a sense of timing. "
