The Big Shave is a 5 - minute short film directed by Martin Scorsese from the year 1967. '67 He is also known under the name Viet.

Action

A man shaves in a white bathroom. He does not seem to notice that he thereby cuts all the time. His blood runs down his face and body and drips into the sink. Finally, he puts his razor on the sink, the image fades into the red.

Background

The short film is interpreted as a commentary on America's involvement in the Vietnam War. It was produced at the " Tisch School of the Arts" at the University of New York. The swing number that is played throughout the film is I Can not Get Started by Bunny Berigan.
