The Bionic Woman

The Seven Million Dollar Woman ( The Bionic Woman ) was an offshoot of the successful U.S. TV series The Six Million Dollar Man starring Lindsay Wagner in the title role. The total of 58 episodes of the series ran from 1976 to 1977 on ABC and from 1977 to 1978 on NBC.

Wagner played the role of Jaime Sommers, a professional tennis player who is seriously injured after a parachute accident and during an operation bionic limbs gets planted. From now on, they can run faster than driving a car, her right arm is strong enough to bend steel, and her ear can perceive frequencies inaudible to the human ear.

In September 2007, launched on the U.S. television network NBC with Bionic Woman, a remake of the series starring Michelle Ryan in the lead role. This new edition brought it to only eight episodes. In March 2008, producer David Eick officially announced that the series was set.

Action

Jaime Sommers and Steve Austin, the Six Million Dollar Man (played by Lee Majors ), were already engaged once before Steve began his training as an astronaut, but had later separated and lost sight of. During a visit with his parents, however, he meets Jaime again, which has become a well-known professional tennis player. The relationship between the two is revived, and soon Steve makes her a marriage proposal. During a Sky Diving excursion there is an accident: Jaime's parachute opens only incomplete and she falls heavily to the ground. The doctors give her little chance of survival, so persuaded Steve to his superiors Oscar Goldman, they just like him fitted with bionic organs to save their lives. The operation is successful, Jaime's legs and her right arm, and one of her ears are now artificial. Despite Steve's objections she executes orders from Goldman like him, but on one of these missions begin their implants to fail. Jaime is mentally and physically unstable and falls into a coma.

The doctors succeed though, to stop the rejection of the implants, but Jaime suffers from now under a kind of amnesia: You can not remember the relationship with Steve, and if they tried it, it causes physical pain. So Steve Austin decides to let her go to save her from further pain.

Jaime, who has now given up her career in tennis, now teaches in her hometown of Ojai, while she continues to work as an undercover agent of OSI.

In the course of the series, she fights against many different opponents, including androids and aliens. Some missions they met together with Steve Austin, but there the previous relationship between the two is usually not treated. In the three films in which the story of Steve Austin and Jaime Sommers was continued, the love between the two but eventually flares up again, so that Jaime and Steve end up eventually marry despite many complications against which they fight again, even.
