History

2000-2002: Stigmata

Blinded Colony was founded in January 2000 by guitarist Johan Blomstrom and Tobias Olsson and Niklas Svensson of singers. At this time, the band as a " stigma " has been known. In June 2000 the band recorded their first demo with the name of Pain receiver. There were also two new band members, Christoffer Nilsson ( drums) and Annika hapten (vocals), was added. Shortly thereafter, Staffan Franzén was recruited as bass player. After completing the Pain receiver album, the band played concerts in Sweden, but went this standard and they agreed on a short break. Six months later, drummer left Christoffer Nilsson then the band. Staffan then decided to take the part as a drummer. Shortly after Christoffer farewell Johan and Tobias began to play again and eventually found a suitable bass player, Roy Erlandsson. After the reformation Annika hapten left the band because of the music of respective differences. In 2002 the second demo Tribute To Chaos was released. Tribute to Chaos attracted the attention of the Italian record label Scarlet Records. Consistent with the new contract, the band changed its name officially to Blinded Colony.

2003-2006: Divine and Scarlet Records

Blinded Colony on debut album Divine was self-produced and eventually released by Scarlet Records in Europe in 2003. In Japan, this was done by Soundholic Records. Blinded Colony and Scarlet Records but soon went their separate ways. Shortly after the founding member Niklas Svensson left the band and Johan Schuster replaced him.

2007 -present: Bedtime Prayers and Pivotal Rockordings

The band recorded the 2005 promo demo and released it in early April 2005. The demo caught the attention of the label Pivotal Rockordings.

After the agreement with Pivotal Rockordings Blinded Colony began in spring 2006 with the recording of their second studio album Bedtime Prayers. Again, the album was self-produced in their home studio "Sound Palace ". Bedtime Prayers was warmly received in Metal circles and compared with works of bands such as In Flames and Soilwork.

2007 was Blinded Colony on the " Outcasts Over Europe " tour as an opening act for Ektomorf and Kayser. They shared the stage with well-known bands such as former Pivotal rock Ording label mates Sonic Syndicate and Dark Tranquillity. The band played at several festivals in 2007 also. In August 2007, would announce that singer Johan Schuster and bassist Roy Erlandsson were replaced by Denny Axelsson and Jeoan Olsson. It was professional differences in the broader sense. After a quiet winter, in which the band made ​​further recordings, joined Johan Blomström from guitar to bass and the band got with Martin Bergman a guitarist to fill the gap. In October 2008, Denny Axelsson left the band and led them into a renewed upheaval. Although Pivotal Rockordings never issued a press release about dropping out of the band, the band is obviously without a contract and is currently producing new material for the third album. Apparently the band has disbanded and immediately re-established as The Blinded. To this end, they released a promo EP under www.blindedcolony.com.
