Criticism

" Sofia Coppola [ ... ] tells the story in almost documentary style, interwoven with fine irony. At first, it provides a view into some quite bizarre family life of her protagonists, but forgo any psychologizing. [ ... ] Coppola forms [ ... ] very closely the life of a generation from, for which the certificate is more important than being. [ ... ] So superficial and Morallos are these young people, Coppola does not condemn, but rather evokes sympathy for them. [ ... ] Her gentle mockery rather applies the celebs who are not afraid to take on the various Internet platforms their lives to the nichtigste detail publicly. As an invitation to attack. "

"The girls than to condemn superficial or to make their fashion and beauty craze ridiculous, that would in any case not have been a difficult task indeed - and Coppola engages fortunately rarely satirical means back. Problem of their film is once again not the atmosphere, but redundancy. The Bling Ring rotates in its constant repetition of the forays of the girls sometime only in circles. "
