The Breeders

The Breeders are an American alternative rock band that was founded in 1988 as a side project of Kim Deal of the Pixies and Tanya Donelly of the Throwing Muses. They were joined by Josephine Wiggs and Shannon Dorton joined, actually Britt Walford is called.

History

The first album was produced by Steve Albini Pod. This was followed by occasional EP publications.

After separation of the Pixies, they released their most successful album Last Splash in 1993, which contained the hit Cannonball. This album had a Deal and her twin sister Kelley Deal ( during the shooting learned to play the guitar ), Josephine Wiggs and Jim MacPherson with. In the music video for Cannonball Spike Jonze directed.

In the following years she toured extensively and then devoted themselves to other projects; Kim Deal, for example, of the band The Amps. It was only in 2002 released their album Title TK, participated in the new members again. Since it sold only moderately, finished the record company Warner Bros. contract.

On 4 April 2008 the band released the album Mountain Battles, can be found on the next English title pieces also in German and Spanish.
