The Brothers, New Zealand

The Brothers ( Māori Nga what u ) is a group of two small rocky islands and other cliffs in the Cook Strait in New Zealand off the east coast of Iceland Arapawa. Administratively, it belongs to the Marlborough region.

On the 66 m high North Brother Island Iceland (4 ha ) occurs in the rare tuatara Sphenodon guentheri, which in English is called after this island Brothers Iceland tuatara. At the summit of this island is a lighthouse, Brothers Iceland Lighthouse.

The islands have been registered since 2008 by the Department of Conservation as Wahi Tapu.
