Burning Zone - Expedition killer virus is an American series that has been running for the first time in September 1996 on UPN, from 1998, the series was seen in Germany on RTL. The series revolves around a team of scientists and security experts who take care of epidemics. Mostly they explore their origins and try to find a cure.
Background
The director of the health department assembles a team to explore a mutated virus and fight above all. The core team for biological crisis defense was formed on special decision of the White House and gets in the second episode of their team chief assigned. The team consists of:
Dr. Daniel Cassian (Michael Harris): He is not there in the first episode. From the second episode Daniel is the leader of the team. He decides when and where the team has the next job, but must be brought before a committee of the Ministry of Defense of the United States, and sometimes, the tasks to him. Specializing Daniel is on disasters that have a chemical or biological origin.
Dr. Edward Marcase ( Jeffrey Dean Morgan ): He is a virologist. His parents were also doctors and are ill with Ebola virus and died. He has the disease, as a child, survived and is now on growing up with relatives. The fact that he has ever survived a serious illness, he has become careless and often goes unnecessary risks. He leaves after eleven episodes the team, it is not discussed.
Dr. Kimberly Shiroma ( Tamlyn Tomita ): She is a specialist in pathology and molecular genetics. Previously she has worked for the World Health Organization. She is no longer there from episode twelve, there is no information to do so.
Michael Hailey ( James Black ): He is the security expert and is part of the Military Counterintelligence Service. Michael was an elite soldier. He cares about the investigation and the safety of the doctors, they should be in danger.
Dr. Brian Taft ( Bradford Tatum ): It comes as a replacement for Edward and Kimberly into the team. Brian is a young, inventive doctor who has retained a youthful light-heartedness.
Action
The series begins with Dr. Reinhard founded a team, for a virus that makes all other viruses immune to antidote. Kimberly is at the beginning very dismissive towards Edward, since it is the fixed Überzeigung, her fiance died in vain, and Edward, who was against Ebola immuns, contributed partially to blame for his death. Later clarify both the situation, but really friendly their relationship is later.
From the second episode, the team has a new head, Dr. Daniel Cassian. Especially Edward Daniel is critical towards. Daniel's niece is seriously ill with cancer and falls for a charlatan. Edward feigns the symptoms of a disease, or he deliberately produced to get to the shielded area access. Michael and Kimberly accompany him to safety. Edward can convince them that the charlatan can not really help her and she has to undergo chemotherapy again Rebecca.
As a result twelve are Edward and Kimberly no longer on the team. He is replaced by Brian added.
