The Cabox

The Cabox is a mountain in the west of the Canadian island of Newfoundland. It lies directly on the coast, about 30 km west of the city Corner Brook. With a height of 814 m The Cabox is the highest mountain in Newfoundland. He is the main peak of the bastide Lewis Hills in the Long Range Mountains.

The mountain was formed in the Precambrian through plate tectonics, as 570 million years ago broke up the supercontinent Rodinia.
