The Call of the Wild

Call of the Wild ( Original title: The Call of the Wild ) is a novel by Jack London. In it the writer describes the hard life at the time of the gold rush in the early 20th century in Alaska from the perspective of a dog.

End of the 19th century, the dog Buck lives in the south of the USA. One day he is kidnapped by the gardener to its owner because of gambling debts and taken as a sled dog in Alaska. As the story progresses it reaches more and more of the " Call of the Wild ". After many adventures with constantly changing slide guides Buck is saved by John Thornton. The two are an inseparable pair. After the death of its last Herrchens follows the dog, which is now without a bond to the people that call definitively and joins a pack of wolves.

The book found its sequels in Jerry the Islanders and Michael, brother of Jerry's.

Expenditure

The book was published in 1903. There are countless editions, with or without illustrations, since the book is copyright free. The trilogy was published in 1977 and 1985 in a band in Universitas Publishing.
