The Capris
The Capris were an American doo-wop group that was particularly known for her hit song " There's a Moon Out Tonight" from 1961.
History
The group was in the late 1950s at the " St. Anthony of Padua " School in the Bronx, New York City, founded (the same school, which was also the birthplace of the Chantels ). There, Nick " Santo " Santa Maria, Mike Miniceli, Frank Reina, Vin Naccarato and John Cassese met in the baseball team. They realized that they could sing well together, formed a vocal group and gave the name The Capris, as they had as Italian -born Americans have a soft spot for the island of Capri.
In 1960, she got a record deal, and in January 1961 they released " There's a Moon Out Tonight", which shot straight to number 3 of the U.S. charts.
Although then a few more singles have been published, their big hit was unmatched.
