Le Poulet is a French short comedy film directed by Claude Berri from the year 1965.

Action

Father, mother and son riding together at a chicken farm. Here the son shoos on the broiler and finally takes one in his arms. The family buys the chicken and keeps it in her shed. The son wants to know when dinner what is done with broilers ( chicken ) and the father replies that they are eaten. Chickens ( poule ) however, are not eaten because they finally lay eggs. The boy likes the broiler as a pet and plots it in school. Parents interested in already for what will happen with the springs and how they will prepare the animal. On the boy's question, when the broiler is to be eaten, the father replied, " Sunday ".

The boy is the next night to secretly and lays an egg from the fridge to the chicken. The father is the next morning surprised to find an egg. On the following morning is an egg next to the chicken and the boy secretly buys on the market a greater number of eggs to reloading regularly can. The family finally believes that one has been wrong on the chicken. She decides not to eat the chicken. The next morning the father is awake, because the chicken crows. He immediately suspects that his son is behind the whole mess. The tearfully confesses that otherwise the chicken will still eaten and the family decides to keep the chicken. The son is happy and the father notes that he had always known that it is actually a chicken.

Production

Le Poulet was born in 1963 as one of the earliest films Berris. The short film, which was shot in black and white, appeared in 1965.

Awards

In the Film Festival in Venice in 1963 Le Poulet received a silver medal. The film was 1966 " Best Short Film " won an Oscar in the category.
