The Child of Lov

Martijn William Zimri Teerlinck ( born March 31, 1987 in Lendelede; † 10 December 2013, Amsterdam ) was a Dutch poet and musician ( Colin ) Williams was known by the stage name The Child of Lov and Cole. He was born the son of a Belgian and a Dutch in Belgium, but grew up in the Netherlands, and among other graphic design and literature at the University of Amsterdam. There he won the 2008 poetry prize at the Amsterdam Student Festival in 2010 and the National Championship Poetry Slam.

As a musician and singer, he worked with Damon Albarn, the rapper MF Doom and bassist Thundercat on his debut album, The Child of Lov, released in May 2013. In an interview with the Belgian weekly magazine Humo he explained the importance of Lov: L stands for light, O for oxygen ( Oxygen) and V is voltage (Voltage ), which described the categories of his songs. Allmusic described the style as " psychedelic hip -hop " music but was also classified under Soul and Rhythm and Blues; Teerlinck Prince himself gave as his role model.

As one of the winners of the NME Awards in 2013 he received the award for best newcomer, the Philip Hall Radar Award. His short life fighting Teerlinck due to a heart defect with an ailing health. He therefore had to cancel several shows, including his scheduled appearance at the Glastonbury Festival 2013. A second album was completed, as Teerlinck in 2013 died of complications of vascular surgery in Amsterdam.
