The Chronicle Herald

The Chronicle Herald is a broadsheet daily newspaper in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. It is also the largest newspaper company in Nova Scotia and has the highest circulation of all newspapers in the Atlantic provinces. The newspaper is independent and is owned by the Dennis Family of Halifax. The head office is located on the 2717 Joseph Howe Drive.

History

The newspaper was first published in 1874 under the name The Morning Herald. The newspaper quickly became the largest daily newspapers in Halifax. In addition, the Evening Mail was launched, the afternoon was available. The biggest competitor of the newspaper The Chronicle were in the morning and The Star in the afternoon. In 1949 a merger of the two editors, and thus arose the The Chronicle - Herald and Mail -Star. In 1998 the issue of a Sunday edition named The Sunday Herald. 2004 were merged from today's The Chronicle Herald was The Chronicle Herald and Mail Star.
