The Courteeners
The Courteeners are a four -piece indie rock band from Greater Manchester.
Head of the band 's singer and songwriter Liam Fray. At first he was as a solo musician in Manchester go before it with three friends who knew each other from the common childhood in Middleton, merged in 2006 to a band.
With its reminiscent of Oasis or The Libertines rock music they were very quickly able to celebrate successes. Already with their second single Acrylic they had a chart hit with What Took You So Long and Not Nineteen Forever they could settle in the top 20. Their debut album, St. Jew in 2008 reached number 4 in the UK charts in April.
A prominent promoter of the band is Morrissey, The Courteeners appeared as the opening act at its U.S. tour in 2009.
