The Curiosity Show is a television program from Australia. The presenters of the show were last Deane Hutton and Rob Morrison. The latter later took over the presidency of the Adelaide Zoo Society.

Concept

The program deals mainly with scientific phenomena, but also deals with animals, handicrafts, puzzles, brain teasers and experiments. The aim is to encourage children between eight and 14 years to think creatively.

History

The show is based on the 1965 produced up to 1971 show Here's Humphrey and the Humphrey B Bear's Curiosity show of 1972. The 1972 produced Curiosity show, whose working title The F show was, with the four presenters Rob Morrison, Deane Hutton, Ian Fairweather Alister Smart and had a duration of 60 minutes. With the departure of the two moderators latter the program was reduced to 30 minutes.

In Germany the show in the 1980s on the third programs of ARD was, later on the Children's Channel (6 clock in the morning), aired on Sat.1 and Austrian television.

Since July 2013 Curiosity show will be posted on YouTube. The presenters Rob Morrison and Deane Hutton acquired the rights to all 5000 contributions of the series, for an undisclosed amount, and use this channel to reach a new generation of viewers.

Awards

The program was awarded the Prix Jeunesse International, and in 1982 with the Logie Award for Best Children's Television Series category.
