The Daily Beast

The Daily Beast is an American site for news and opinions. Founder and editor is Tina Brown, formerly an editor at Vanity Fair and The New Yorker. About a third of webzines are self-created content, while the rest consists of links to other news sources contributions. The Daily Beast was launched in October 2008; The owner is the InterActiveCorp (IAC ).

Chief editor of the Beast was initially Edward Felsenthal, today John Avlon. Stephen Colvin was managing director at inception, then took over as interim Rhona Murphy. The name of the site comes from the novel by Evelyn Waugh Scoop, which is called a fictitious newspaper so.
