The Daily Observer

The Daily Observer is a private newspaper in The Gambia. It is regarded as independent, yet it is classified as close to the government. There appear five issues a week, the issue on Friday is called "Weekend Observer". Office of the newspaper is in Bakau.

The newspaper was founded by Kenneth Y. Best, 1990, had fled to the Best in the chaos of the Liberian civil war in Liberia. With the military coup in Gambia, he reported at first skeptical and was deported by the military junta to Liberia, from where he went to the United States.

Managing Saja Taal is. He had at that time, in 2005, Momodou Sanyang replaced as his successor.

11 May 2012 we celebrated the 20 th anniversary.
