The Damned Things

The Damned Things is a Hard-Rock-/Heavy-Metal-Band from New York. The band was founded in 2009, is made up of members of the bands Anthrax, Every Time I Die and Fall Out Boy to and is referred to as a super group. The Damned Things are in Iceland Records and has been running a studio album released. The band's name comes from the lyrics of the song "Black Betty " by Ram Jam Group.

History

In 2006, the guitarist Scott Ian (Anthrax ) and Joe Trohman ( Fall Out Boy) met. Following a joint jam session, the musicians began to write songs together. In the following years the band line around the vocalist Keith Buckley ( Every Time I Die ), the drummer Andy Hurley and guitarist Rob Caggiano (Anthrax ) has been added. In late 2009, the musicians had written enough material and decided to record an album.

On 1 June 2010, the band played their first concert in New York. This was followed by concerts in Europe and appearances at the Download Festival and Rock am Ring. After that, the band returned to the U.S. and recorded their debut album Ironiclast. Produced by Rob Caggiano and Joe Trohman album was released on December 14, 2010 in North America via Iceland Records. In the first week of 6200 albums were sold in the United States. The album reached number one on the Heatseekers charts, are considered in the artists who have never placed an album among the first hundred of the U.S. album charts.

Style

The music of The Damned Things is significantly different from that of the three ordinary bands. While Anthrax Thrash Metal is in Every Time I Die is a metalcore band and Fall Out Boy to an alternative rock band. When Scott Ian and Joe Trohman met, the musician spoke much of their love for bands like Thin Lizzy and Black Sabbath. Other influences relate the musicians from the Hard and Classic Rock. Most of the songs of the band written by Rob Caggiano and Joe Trohman, which are rarely or not at all involved in their family bands to the compositions.
