The Dark Ride

Occupation

The Dark Ride is the ninth studio album by the band Helloween. It was released in 2000 by Nuclear Blast.

Music style

Helloween's ninth studio album The Dark Ride is a break in the style represents: The orientation of most pieces is much more modern and sinister than previously heard on an album. Only the two written by Michael Weikath songs sound like the traditional style. The majority of the pieces are played with down-tuned guitars, a typical feature of the mode of production of Roy Z, who has worked among others for Bruce Dickinson and Rob Halford.

Importance

For the second time in her career Helloween supply from a very experimental album. In contrast to the Chameleon style, although still assigned to the Heavy Metal, the classic trademarks of the band's sound, however, were also left at The Dark Ride largely left out. There arise as a result again significant tensions among the band members, which means that Michael Weikath ( could upload their own statements after very few guitars on the album ) offers to its exit from the band. Since Helloween one of its two founding members but do not want to let them go, it comes after the tour for the separation of Roland and Uli Kusch Grapow, both working together for several months on a project that will be known in a row as the master plan.
