The Devil Dancer is an American romantic film drama directed by Fred Niblo from the year 1927. Silent film, which took place in his time because of the excellent camera work and the use of light and shadow effects recognition, is considered lost.

Action

The white Takla is an orphan who grew up in a monastery in the Himalayas, they grow up may not even leave. She is freed by British adventurer Stephen Athelstan. Athelstan falls in love with Takla, but his sister wants to prevent communication of her brother with the " devil dancer". You can kidnap Takla. Production

The Devil Dancer was first rotated by Alfred Raboch and assistant director Lynn Shores. Later Shores director of the film and Raboch assistant. Finally Niblo directed the film, and completed the film.

Awards

George Barnes was for this film as well as The Magic Flame ( 1927) and ... but the flesh is weak (1928), nominated for the first Academy Awards in 1929 for an Oscar in the category Best Cinematography.
