The Dinosaurs

The Dinosaurs were an American rock band that was founded in 1982. The Dinosaurs are the only super group that evolved from the psychedelic rock scene of the Bay Area around San Francisco.

The original members were Peter Albin of Big Brother and the Holding Company, John Cipollina of Quicksilver Messenger Service, Papa John Creach of Hot Tuna, Spencer Dryden of Jefferson Airplane, Robert Hunter of the Grateful Dead, Barry Melton of Country Joe and the Fish and Bay Area musician Merl Saunders.

1988 came out the only studio album by the band, Dinosaurs. Published in 2005 an album of old recordings, Friends of Extinction.
