The Dizzy Acrobat

The Dizzy Acrobat is an American animated short film directed by Alex Lovy from the year 1943.

Action

Woody Woodpecker wants to go to the circus. He bought a hot dog, but the steals him a lion. He buys an ice cream and instead tried to smuggle under the big top in the currently running show. The usher caught him and throws him out. Further attempts will fail. The usher says Woody Woodpecker should be the entry money with elephant washing, but the woodpecker includes the elephant only with his trunk to a fire hydrant.

Woody Woodpecker ended up during a car chase in the circus tent, where he among other things interfere with the ongoing performance on the trapeze. The usher pursues him and there will be a series of incidents. At the end of the usher is racing on a bicycle from the circus tent and lands in front of the shooting target of a shooting range. Woody Woodpecker laughing characteristic follows him, but as the usher shot at the end.

The Dizzy Acrobat was released on 21 May 1943 as part of the Universal Animation Series Woody Woodpecker.

Woody Woodpecker was voiced in the film by Mel Blanc. Ben Hardaway sings in the film as Woody Woodpecker the children's song I Went to the Animal Fair.

Awards

The Dizzy Acrobat was 1944 for an Oscar in the category " Best Animated Short Film " nomination, but could not prevail against Tom plays pyrotechnician.
