Dongfang hóng (Chinese东方 红/东方 红, Pinyin Dongfang hóng, " The East is Red ") is the film adaptation of a historical musicals and the first Chinese color film.

History

The musical was under the formal auspices of Zhou Enlai produced for the 15th anniversary of the founding of the People 's Republic of China and premiered on October 2, 1964 in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. At the preparation from July 1964 and in the performance more than 3,500 people were involved. In 1965, the film was completed.

Representation

This is the film version of a musical epic with a large mixed choir and an orchestra of Chinese and European instruments. The stage performers are actors, dancers and acrobats. The plot is marked by revolutionary songs and dances. A spokeswoman and a spokesman perform the action.

Content
