The End Is My Beginning

The end is my beginning is originally the title for an interview in book form by Folco Terzani with his father Tiziano. This is the basis of the same film, the last days in the life of the Italian journalist and writer Tiziano Terzani (1938-2004; played in the film by Bruno Ganz) is. The main contents form the conversations between him and his son Folco about the life and experiences of journalists in different parts of the world, mainly in Asia. The journalist reflected partly in unusually humorous form, his insights about life and death, especially about his imminent death due to cancer. The son takes to the talks in the last three months of life of his father, which later formed the first book. In turn, the film producer Ulrich Limmer and director Jo Baier worked closely with the family Terzanis and especially with the son Folco Terzani, as it went to the parties to a high degree of authenticity.
