The English Historical Review

The English Historical Review (EHR ) is one of the oldest English-language journals for historical science.

The EHR was first published in 1886 by Oxford University Press and is not concerned exclusively with British history, but with all aspects of the history of Europe and the world since the classical era. The EHR also includes the history of America, but with attention to the foreign policy and America's role as a world power.

The EHR is divided into main articles, documentaries, as well as debates on medieval and modern themes of historical science. The main focus for the reader, however, lies in the extensive reviews of books that are published around the world, and a summary of international literature.

The EHR will appear each year in February, April, June, September and November. It has 288 pages in each issue, so subscribers receive more than 1400 pages a year, of which are dedicated to the more than 800 books.
