The Essex

The Essex was an American singing group, which for half a year beginning in the 1960s, in June, was an international success by December 1963.

History

The male members of the group were stationed together in the U.S. Army and in Okinawa. After her return, she learned the singer Anita Humes know and decided to incorporate them into their lineup. She took over the Leasstimme.

1963 the quintet got a record deal with Roulette Records and equal to the first single " Easier Said Than Done" was a bestseller, noted on 8 Juni1963 first time in the U.S. singles charts and reached on July 6, 1963 # 1 on the U.S. charts. The title was composed by William Linton and Larry Huff, produced the single of Henry Glover.

The men were still formally Navy members, which meant that they needed special permits for performances and tours, and this had to wear uniforms.

The sequel to A Walkin ' Miracle could be placed in the U.S. singles chart in the top 20. In November and December 1963 She's Got Everything reached a 56th place again. After completion of military service, the band fell apart.
