The Event

The Event (THE EVƎNT ) is an American science fiction television series created by Nick Wauters, which was produced from 2010 from Universal Media Studios for the U.S. television network NBC, it was a season with 22 episodes. The series is described as a thriller, love story and mystery series with science fiction elements.

Action

The plot is only beginning still mostly told in flashbacks later in the series but then especially in the present. The plot refers to the secret from the public emergency landing of aliens in Alaska in 1944. Since the aliens, which differ only by reason of their DNA from humans, but externally look identical, were seen as a threat, 97 of them permanently in a secret prison was locked up in Alaska. However, it managed to capture some individuals to escape into hiding and become involved in important positions in public life and society.

As the U.S. president 66 years later learns of the existence of those beings who age extremely slowly for earthly relationships he wants with this information to the media public what influential opponent want to avoid at all costs. One of the main characters of the series is Sean Walker, who gets accidentally caught in the crossfire because his girlfriend was kidnapped by the opponents of the President to exert pressure against her father, a pilot. While other events are determined from a web of intrigue, conspiracies, plans and counter- plans, a dramatic race against time begins all parties involved, in which only the lives of individual, then many, then all of humanity is at stake.

The titular event (English " Event " ) refers to a far-reaching secret that involve the aliens in it.

The German synchronization was processed by the synchronous Interopa film company in Berlin, dialogue directed by Boris Tessman, who was also responsible on the side of Martina Marx for the dialog book.

Production

The script was indeed written in 2006 by Nick Wauters, however, brought in 2009 from producer Steve Stark on NBC, after he had heard that the transmitter is a series of " event " factor examined. In January 2010, NBC then ordered a pilot episode.

On 13 May 2011 the series from NBC has been set. After setting, negotiations began between the producers and the cable channel Syfy to still continue the series. However, the negotiations were shortly thereafter declared to have failed.

Charisma and range

In the U.S., the first season of the series ran from September 20, 2010 on NBC. The pilot episode was watched by 11.19 million people, reaching a rating of 3.7 in the target demographic of 18 - 49 year - up.

Germany

The rights to the series, the Media Group RTL Germany has secured. The German Air Date began on October 26, 2011 in double episodes on RTL II, but was stopped due to low ratings after the first six episodes. Only after two -year break, the series was broadcast by RTL II to an end, but not in prime time, but deep in the night.

Internationally

International, among other stations in Canada, the UK, Sweden, South Africa, Russia, Italy and Australia have secured the rights to the series.
