The Experts (1973 film)

The expert is a German feature film from the year 1973. It is the debut film of director and writer Norbert Kückelmann.

Action

The young Jourist Matthias Mainzer is a person who leads a normal life. He is unassuming about his work and is the typical gray mouse from the mass of the big city. One day he gets no fault in a fight and yet accused to have been the trigger for this fight. The police officers ensure that it is sent to a psychiatric hospital for examination. Now he is faced with numerous legal and medical experts. A spiral of abstruse judgments, actions and diagnoses continues in transition. Mainz gets deeper and deeper into the swamp and is refracted by the experts without using force. As underlying directed man he is finally set free again. But Mainz can not return to his normal life again. The psychological wounds that have inflicted the experts who sit too low.

Background

Norbert Kückelmann practiced while he produced his first film, written and directed, still active as a lawyer in Munich.

Awards

Kückelmann showed his film at the Berlinale competition in 1973 and won a Silver Bear formers. In 1973 he also received the German Film Award in the category of Best Film.
