Action
Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble are friends and work colleagues. Originally from a wealthy family Wilma stockpile is friends with Betty pebbly sand. When the men get to know the women who fell in love with Fred Wilma Barney and Betty.
The mother of Wilma, Pearl Slaghoople, dreams that her daughter marries the rich Chip Rockefeller. Fred, Barney, Wilma and Betty are invited from chip to Rock Vegas, where Chip has a casino. Fred wins there first, then he loses the game. The alien Gazoo helps Fred.
Commercial success
Commercial failed to match its predecessor from 1994, the film by far. In the German cinema, he found only around 548,000 viewers, putting it in the hit list of the most successful movies of the year knocked off number 74 (for comparison: " The Flintstones " was seen by 6.259 million people in 1994, reaching number 2 ). In the U.S., the film grossed a meager $ 35.2 million and thus is ranked 73 of the year hit list (for comparison: " The Flintstones " reached in 1994 with a profit of $ 128 million, 5th place).

The film was awarded in 2001 as " Best Comedy " at the Young Artist Award. Mark Addy got a " Best Actor in a Comedy " is also a Young Artist Award. He also got six more nominations, including two at the Golden Globe Award.
