The Gay Deception is an American comedy film directed by William Wyler from the year 1935.

Action

Stenografistin Mirabel Miller lives in a small town in the western United States and leads a simple life. One day she wins $ 5,000 in lottery. She decides to go for a month to New York to stay in the best hotels and spend all the money. Production

The Gay Deception was shot under the working title April Folly from June to August 1935. The costumes of the film created William Lambert, the Filmbauten submitted by Max Parker. Criticism

Variety wrote that the clever directing and some comedic scenes from a simple Cinderella story to make a pleasant and light entertainment film. The New York Times also found that the film's content corresponds to the typical course of romantic comedies. Award
