The Gift (Band)

The Gift is a Portuguese pop / rock band from Alcobaça and exists since 1994.

Career

After their first mini - album " Digital Atmosphere " in Portugal was no record company, they went over to the independent self-marketing. They gave numerous concerts, to the Centro Cultural de Belém and the Monastery of Alcobaça, and in 1999 they made the soundtrack for a television series of public Rádio e Televisão de Portugal ( RTP) ( Não és Homem Não és Nada ).

So they publish today, all their albums and singles on their own label " La Folie ". 2005 The Gift in the moderated by Sacha Baron Cohen in Lisbon's Pavilhão Atlântico MTV Europe Music Awards were awarded.

In Germany The poison previously played only once, at the Cologne Cathedral in 2006 as a Portuguese television broadcast of the RTP before the World Cup match Portugal - Angola.

Explode your LP is elected by the ' Art Vinyl "2011 among the world's 50 most successful cover designs ( number 27 ).

The singer Sónia Tavares had also been the Project Hoje, along with Moonspell singer and two other musicians (including the The Gift keyboardist and songwriter Nuno Gonçalves ) and their project Amália Hoje ( reinterpretations of songs the singer Amália Rodrigues, 23 weeks at number 1).
