The Go-Go's

The Go-Go's are an indie pop band of the 1980s from California, USA.

History

The band was founded in 1978; they were known for appearances in the opening act of Madness Tour.

We Got the Beat hits were ( single) and Beauty and the Beat ( Album). After two more albums ( Vacation and Talk Show ), the band split in 1985, after two appearances on at Rock in Rio. Belinda Carlisle started in the late 1980s, a successful solo career.

Reunification came in 1990, since then, the albums Return to the Valley of the Go-Go's (1994) and God Bless the Go-Go's (2001) were published.

To the thirtieth anniversary of their debut album Beauty and the Beat was released in May 2011 in a new edition, expanded to include a live recording from August 1981 from the " Club Metro" in Boston.

In August 2011, the band ( in the occupation of Belinda Carlisle, Charlotte Caffey, Gina Schock, Kathy Valentine and Jane Wiedlin ) was honored on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with an asterisk category music recordings. The star is located at address 6652 Hollywood Boulevard in front of the former nightclub " The Masque ", where the band had their first gig in 1978.
