Musterknaben is a German comedy film DEFA by John Knittel from the year 1959.
Action
The construction workers Bassi and Edwin are the black sheep of their Brigade: Regularly come both too late to work and even keep a record of the excuses they have used the week already. But they listen to before going home to look up the women. In particular they are interested in that they see regularly from their construction site for Thea and Susi.
Susi is the daughter of Arthur, the head of the household, whose Patenbrigade is again the operation of Bassi and Edwin. The operation takes care not to the household in which the blessing is crooked. Long ago Arthur has demanded that from the attic space is a club, but the project fell asleep after some time and become the club room up to the storeroom and laundry floor. Consequently, Arthur has provided the television of the unused space in his apartment, to the household reclaimed under the direction of Thea and finally went to breakage during storms from Arthur's apartment. On the resulting scheduled for the next day's meeting house, the TV themes and club room will finally be discussed. As counsel, Arthur has asked for a speaker of the Godfather operation, but prefers the ladder Emperor intend to go fishing. The living house again Bassis and Edwin employees Scholz, Thea and Susi appears telling the truth about the two men, but all asking to give anything away: Bassi and Edwin should rather be taken at his word. It so happens that both men eventually not only the TV repaired return, but must actively assist in the redesign of the club space. The entire house reaches out and the evening inauguration may already be celebrated. At the time Arthur has also Kaiser found, the Bassi and Edwin to confront them because of their behavior. In the end, however, appear Scholz and Weber and appease Arthur and emperors. The women in turn forgive Bassi and Edwin and everything comes to a happy end.

Musterknaben premiered on 27 November 1959 Berlin Film Theater am Friedrichshain. It was the film debut of the later popular comedian Rolf Herricht.
Criticism
The contemporary criticism was, in Musterknaben would " funny exaggerated and a delightful family of weird guys finds herself together. " The " little meager history " are upgraded by " a plethora of comic situations that focus directly on the diaphragm ".
For the filmdienst the film was a " comedy with a thin plot, the ancient gags dressed in a modern-day look. "
Cinema was: "Unfortunately, the whole is not more exciting than a home improvement program on commercial television. [ ... ] Conclusion: Even in the 50s that was not funny ".
