The Grid

The Grid are an English electronic dance music group, consisting of Richard Norris and David Ball (former Soft Cell member of the band ). Their biggest hits were " Swamp Thing ", " Crystal Clear ", " Texas Cowboys ", " Rollercoaster ", " Floatation " and " Cybernetic " (with Robert Fripp and Phil Manzanera ).

Band History

The band was founded in 1988 and had their first success with the debut single " Floatation ", published it is at East West Records in 1990. Afterwards, they released a series of singles and four albums until 1994 the album " Evolver " # 14 in the UK album Charts. The lead single " Swamp Thing" includes an experienced banjo (played by Roger Dinsdale ) to house music beats and was a commercial success in the UK, Europe and Australia. " Swamp Thing" reached # 3 on the charts in England and Australia and has sold one million copies.

In 1996, the band members decided a long time to realize their own musical interests. Norris founded on the band The Droyds which focused on remixes along with Armand Van Helden and Siobhan Fahey, Ball again called back to life his old band Soft Cell with Marc Almond and wrote the way film music.

The duo teamed up again in 2005, played two gigs with singer Misty Woods under the name GDM before they wrote new songs and recordings made ​​for their old band The Grid. Then came 2007, the single " Put Your Hands Together" and in 2008 the album " Double" the record label Some Bizzare Records. The album includes some of the song by British musician Chris Braide.
