The Guardian (1713)

The Guardian newspaper was a short-lived publication, which appeared in London in 1713. The Guardian was founded by Richard Steele. Key employees were Joseph Addison, Thomas Tickle and Ambrose Philips. Steele and Addison had previously worked together at the Spectator and the Tatler. All these publications have nothing to do with the same name, still appearing British print organs.
