The Guild is an award -winning online sitcom about the lives of the members of the computer game Guild The Knights of Good. Each episode is about 3-13 minutes.

The series is deliberately kept general to avoid copyright problems and to appeal to the broadest possible base of MMORPG fans. The first episode was released on June 27, 2007. The series documents the life of Codex, the healer of the Knights of Good, who tries to lead a normal life after one of her guildmates shows up at her door. The Guild is written by Felicia Day, Directed by Jane Selle Morgan lead, Greg Bensen ( Season 1 ), Sean Becker (Season 2-5 ) and Chris Preksta ( Season 6 ). Produces the series of Day, Morgan and Kim Evey.

The first three episodes of the series were financed privately by the producers. When the money was gone, allowed for a fundraising campaign via PayPal the continuation of production. The shooting for the second season were anfinanziert from the proceeds of the Season 1 DVD. It succeeded Felicia Day, the company Microsoft to gain a sponsor, where they could retain the rights to the series. The seasons 2-5 therefore always appeared initially on the Microsoft video platforms. Due to a changed business model, Microsoft sponsorship at the end of the fifth season one. Published in autumn 2012 sixth season was financed by Felicia Days YouTube TV project Geek & Sundry and therefore appeared as Season 1 first on YouTube. On 8 January 2013, the twelfth and final episode of the sixth season was released. In July 2013 Day confirmed that there would be no continuation as a web series.

All seasons were released on DVD. The scales of 1 to 5 are in addition to feature-length film with trivia comments on Youtube are available.
