The Harder They Come is a Jamaican feature film from director Perry Henzell in 1972 and is one of the so-called Midnight Movies.

Action

The Jamaican singer Jimmy Cliff stars as Ivanhoe Martin, a young man who comes from the countryside to the city of Kingston and dreams of a career as a singer. After several initial difficulties, he finally finds a producer ( the representative of the majority of the former Jamaican producers). After this paid him only extremely sparse, Ivan begins to earn his money with the trade of marijuana, which is illegal in Jamaica.
